Introduction to Mobile CTS Program

The initiative take by Prairie Land Regional Division is designed to provide Career and Technology programming to students who not otherwise have the opportunity to experience them. The strands of Electronics, Mechanics and Wildlife were chosen for the wide range of skills they present, the variety the would be offer the students, and the ability for teachers to present these courses without special instruction.

Each one of these modules is designe to be offered to students in a self-learning environment. Teachers would provide students with the modules, supervise and monitor their progress, and provide them with a mark based on a variety of assessment tools.

Course Documents

The following is a list of documents which pertain to the different courses. They include instruction manuals, student introductions, workbooks, information sheets and assignments. The actual sheets completed by students will be done on hard copy to allow teachers to better monitor student progress and understanding. Some assignments may be completed online, or using a word processor, and these will be indicated by the instructor.

Every effort will be made to keep these documents up to date, but any changed or altered documents provided by the course instructor will be recognized as the actual document.

The following course was developed in response to a request from school communities that all students have the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience in practical activities. This module is a very flexible approach to understanding how to view the home as a collection of systems, how these systems function and how to maintain and complete basic repairs. Teachers can support students in a two or three credit approach to the course, based on school interest and facilities. ***Official recognition of this course has been applied for from Alberta Education, but at the time of posting hasn't been received.
