2016-2017 Operating and Capital Budget

The Board of Trustees passed a motion to adopt the 2016-2017 operating and capital budget.  The finalized 2016-2017 operating budget is presented with a deficit of $405,000; funded through a combination of general instructional, school specific and plant operating & maintenance reserves.  This deficit includes $187,000 of one-time initiatives including the J.C. Charyk Hanna School fitness facility, a classroom projector and Student Owned Device three year project, and the continuation the three year plan focal points (year 2 of 3).  The capital budget includes requests for buses, a cargo trailer and passenger vehicles for a total of $491,000.

Staff Recognition Banquets

As per request from the Teacher & Board Advisory Committee (TBAC), the staff appreciation banquets were reinstated for the 2015-2016 school year.  The north banquet will be held on Wednesday, June 8 in Veteran and the south banquet will be held on Tuesday, June 14 in Hanna.  The PLRD retirees will be recognized at the appreciation banquets for their dedication to the staff and students of PLRD.

Deputy Superintendent Placement

The Board of Trustees passed a motion that a term contract of employment be offered to Steve Nielsen for the position of Chief Deputy Superintendent of PLRD #25.  The Board congratulates Steve on his position and wishes him the best in his new role.
