Board of Trustees - Ward 2, Subdivision 1 (Hanna)
Serving her second term as a Trustee for Ward 2, subdivision 1, Angie Warwick is even more passionate about the generative governance role that she holds in moving towards inclusion and sustainability in this 21st Century of learning. She was elected Vice-Chairperson at the 2011 Organizational Meeting.
Although Hanna is the Ward Warwick was acclaimed in, she represents the division as a whole. She is the voice of her constituents and is entrusted with making decisions that develop an equitable education system that considers each student in realizing their potential and achieving their hopes, dreams and aspirations in a quality education.
“As unique as Prairie Land is it self, the schools we serve are diverse and unique unto themselves but I am confident that in the best interest of our students here in Prairie Land we need to draw on the communality amongst us to do what is best for all the students in our division,” said Warwick.
As one member of an eight member board, Warwick says they have an understanding that their governance responsibility is to set the direction, identify and support clear priorities, communicate the will of the jurisdiction through their strategic plan, track progress towards identified goals and work collaboratively with their superintendent in transitioning these goals into reality.
It is Warwick’s commitment to gather information to make sound decisions that enhance and enable the future of each student in a caring and inclusive environment along with horizontal networking amongst principals, teachers and administration. It is also our goal in adopting an annual budget that achieves jurisdiction priorities as we continue to lobby municipal and provincial governments to ensure those who influence funding and other resources hear the voice of our rural communities.
Angie celebrates 13 years of marriage with her husband Chris and is a mother to two children, a son Nathanael (12) and a daughter Abigail (10).
Warwick noted that although being a Trustee is time consuming she is excited about the challenges ahead and working closely with local & Provincial inter-governmental agencies and continues to welcome your input and support. “We are in tumultuous times of great change...and yet I believe with the right vision of our futures plan along with horizontal leadership we will have “The Perfect Storm” in PLRD!”
